Mario Cristobal delivers some news that will make Miami Hurricanes fans exhale ahead of clash with Clemson
The Canes appear likely to have two very important players available for the Tigers.
The Miami Hurricanes return to the road on Saturday for ACC play after defeating Central Michigan 52-3 at hard Rock Stadium. Miami will play its third conference road game already this month, heading to Clemson to take on Dabo Swinney’s Tigers in primetime on Saturday night.
The Hurricanes saw a handful of notable players on the sideline against the Chippewas as injuries have done a number on the Hurricanes’ roster early in the season. Included among them were two starters in running back Mark Fletcher, Jr. and defensive tackle Ahmad Moten, Sr.
Their services weren’t needed against a team that Miami came in as a 41.5-point favorite against. But as two of Miami’s arguably best players on the entire roster, their return was certainly a topic of discussion on Mario Cristobal’s weekly Monday morning hit on “The Jose Rose Show” on 104.3 FM. Joe Rose asked Cristobal if he expected them to be available on Saturday against Clemson, and Cristobal responded that he did.

It goes without saying that getting both players back are crucial, as both are physical tone setters on each of their respective sides of the ball. The 6-2, 225-pound Fletcher is the hammer that leans on beats on opposing defenses that helped give Miami an edge in fourth quarters of games in 2025.
Moten is a mountain in the middle and can help neutralize the Tigers’ inside run game and put Clemson in unfavorable down and distance situations. For a Clemson passing game that has struggled mightily this year, that’s an important defensive piece to have for Miami.
We’ll find out more when the initial availability report comes out on Wednesday, but for now, it sounds like the news is good for two very important Hurricanes for Saturday.
