Las Vegas Raiders got some bad news after their Week 3 win over the Saints that’s sure to make Week 4 vs. the Chiefs that much harder
The Las Vegas Raiders suffered some pretty substantial injuries in their Week 3 win over the Saints to guys like Jack Bech and Jackson Powers-Johnson
The Las Vegas Raiders went into their game against the New Orleans Saints a bit beat up. They left the game more beat up. Brock Bowers was questionable entering the game, Treydan Stukes was out, and others were playing through injuries.
After the game, they now have two players who could miss Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. One definitely will; the other could.
“[Wide receiver] Jack Bech fractured his forearm, so we will evaluate him tomorrow. JPJ [right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson] has a groin [injury],” Kubiak told reporters after the win.
Firstly, you absolutely hate that for Bech. Sure, you hate that for anyone, but this game meant a lot for him. Bech wanted to play this game for his brother, Tiger, who was tragically killed in New Orleans. He even had special cleats made for the game. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance to do anything.
Raiders’ Jackson Powers-Johnson is showing one of his few flaws
When it comes to JPJ, he’s uber talented. But he’s always injured. He’s dealt with injuries and missed games far too often in his young career. And that could continue. However, this time, if he misses next week’s game against the Chiefs, he may not get his job back.
Powers-Johnson was battling for the starting right guard spot. He and Caleb Rogers were going back and forth in training camp. If Rogers comes in and plays well, he could end up being the right guard, even when JPJ is back. But that’s part of the game.
Luckily, the Raiders were prepared for this. They have some of the best offensive-line depth they have had in years. Rogers is a good football player. However, he doesn’t have the same experience as JPJ. Now could be his chance. He better make the most of it. Regardless, now the Raiders are 3-0.
