Las Vegas Raiders make a roster move after receiving some terrible news that no one wants, especially after starting 3-0
The Las Vegas Raiders are in a very good position to continue their undefeated streak, but being without Jac Bech may make things a bit more difficult. Because of that, they have signed wide receiver Tyler Scott.
The Las Vegas Raiders made a roster move Monday, one day after their win over the New Orleans Saints. Wide receiver Jack Bech fractured his forearm during the game, and Las Vegas needed to address the depth in its wide receiver room.
The Raiders released wide receiver Ronnie Bell from the practice squad and signed wide receiver Tyler Scott in a corresponding move. Bell was signed near the beginning of the year with hopes he could provide depth, but he never carved out a role.
Scott was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He has played 28 games in his career, starting four of them in 2023. Over that span, Scott has 18 catches on 33 targets for 173 receiving yards, no touchdowns, and 10 first downs. He did not play last season in 2025, but the Raiders feel he can add depth on the practice squad.
Cody White continues to make his case
The bigger storyline may be what Cody White has done. White has scored three touchdowns in 3 weeks. Over the last two weeks, he has been elevated from the practice squad and recorded at least one touchdown in both games, including two against the Los Angeles Chargers. White could be the player who steps up with Bech sidelined.
The Raiders may bring White onto the 53-man roster full time until Bech returns, or they may continue elevating him week to week. Either way, White is making it hard to ignore what he brings to this offense. Once Scott learns the playbook, he could be another candidate for elevation. But right now, this is White’s opportunity to seize.
Bech’s fractured forearm will keep him out for some time, and that hurts the Raiders whether fans want to acknowledge it or not. He doesn’t fill up the stat sheet with touchdowns or targets every week, but he plays a vital role in this offense. Bech is a strong run blocker and excels at running intermediate routes. He also helps take pressure off playmakers like tight end Brock Bowers, Jalen Nailor, and Tre Tucker.
The passing offense has been better than many expected at the start of the year. Quarterback Kirk Cousins has thrown three touchdowns in each of his first three games and leads the league with nine touchdown passes through three weeks. Vegas will get a true measuring stick in Week 4 when they play the Chiefs. That game will be for sole possession of first place in the AFC West. It’s a matchup that will reveal where this team truly stands. And one they’ll have to face without one of their more important complementary pieces.
