The Minnesota Vikings are 3-0 going into their second home game of the season against the Miami Dolphins.

After the firs three games, the Vikings’ offense has been struggling. They only have one touchdown in the last two games on offense, and it came on a deep ball touchdown pass from Jordan Addison. They also failed to run a play in the red zone against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and still came out of there with a win.

The biggest question mark comes from wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter and didn’t return. Luckily, it’s a lower ankle sprain, which is good news for him potentially playing on Sunday. He was the highlight of the first injury report of the week.

Observations

  • Jefferson was announced as not practicing by head coach Kevin O’Connell during Wednesday’s press conference. He could miss practice all week and still play on Sunday. The Vikings have historically taken it very safe with Jefferson in the past, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it happen again.
  • Jones being listed only for rest is a good sign after being banged up the last few days.

Observations

  • The Dolphins’ two rookie wide receivers, Douglas and Bell, being on here is a tough blow. If they both miss the game, the Vikings’ job on defense will be much easier.
  • DeVon Achane is also going to miss the game, as the Dolphins put him on injured reserve with a torn ACL earlier this week.
  • Underrated addition to the injury report: the long snapper. Never great to see an aspect of your special teams operation be injured.
