Titans-Ravens final injury report delivers several breaks Tennessee desperately needed for its upset bid
Trey Hendrickson is out, Baltimore will start a rookie at center and Tennessee’s two key veterans are cleared. The final injury report gives the Titans a narrow path toward a massive upset.
The Tennessee Titans (0-3) need the upset of the season in the NFL. They’ll try to pull it off in Baltimore against their former all-everything running back Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens (2-1).
Based on the final injury reports both teams released Friday afternoon, Tennessee might have already won a small battle in the margins.
The Titans remain relatively healthy, even after placing two guards on injured reserve earlier this week. Fernando Carmona had a surgical procedure on his ankle, and Jackson Slater had one on his foot. Losing two guards in the same week stings.
Titans coach Robert Saleh has done a good job keeping the new right guard plan under wraps. To me, that element of surprise is REALLY the only way the Titans win this game.
Titans injury report: Tony Pollard and John Franklin-Myers good to go
Two players who missed practice time this week will play with no designation.
Running back Tony Pollard missed time Wednesday with a foot injury. Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers missed time Wednesday with a back issue and did not practice Thursday. He worked his way back to full go by Friday.
Two Titans are questionable.
Running back Tyjae Spears is dealing with an ankle injury. He did not practice Wednesday, was limited Thursday, and was a full participant Friday. That’s the trajectory you want to see.
Safety Kevin Winston Jr. went the other direction. He was fine Wednesday and a full participant Thursday. Then something happened in practice, and he was unable to go Friday with a shoulder injury.
Saleh addressed both situations Friday morning and indicated Spears and Winston are trending in the right direction for the game.
Ravens injury report: Trey Hendrickson out, Vega Ioane moves to center
Now for the Baltimore side, where the Titans might have caught a couple of breaks.
We already knew the Ravens would be without two of their centers. Ethan Pocic has been ruled out for a while. Jovaughn Gwyn did not practice all three days and was ruled out early.
Enter Vega Ioane.
The rookie out of Penn State will make his first start at center after opening the season as the starting guard. The 14th overall pick was arguably the best offensive lineman in the 2026 draft class. He’s a good player. However, center is a position where he doesn’t have much experience. His only real center work there came in Week 3, when he played nine snaps in relief duty against the Cowboys in Brazil.
Here’s where Tennessee might have gotten the biggest relief. Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is out after undergoing a procedure to repair the broken finger he had played through during the Ravens’ previous two games. Head coach Jesse Minter said Hendrickson’s expected absence as “very, very short term,” but it will keep Baltimore’s top pass rusher away from Cam Ward on Sunday.
Baltimore also has three questionable players worth watching, two of them starters who are a big deal.
Wide receiver Zay Flowers is officially questionable with a hamstring injury. He was limited Wednesday, practiced fully Thursday and was limited again Friday, although Baltimore attributed Friday’s reduced workload to rest rather than a setback.
Flowers said Thursday that the hamstring issue feels behind him, so Tennessee should prepare as if Lamar Jackson’s most dangerous receiver will play. Still, the questionable designation creates at least a little uncertainty heading into Sunday.
Veteran left tackle Ronnie Stanley is also questionable with a toe injury. He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday before receiving Friday off for rest. Stanley missed Baltimore’s Week 3 game, making his status one worth monitoring when Sunday’s inactive list is released.
The last questionable Raven is a familiar name in Nashville. Former Titans wide receiver Chris Moore was limited all three days with an ankle injury.
Can the Titans actually shock the world in Baltimore?
The Ravens were a big 11.5-point favorite the last time I looked. That number makes sense on paper.
Henry has piled up 301 rushing yards and six touchdowns through the first three weeks. Meanwhile, the Titans offense has scored just four touchdowns in three games. Yes, the guy Tennessee cordially let go after the 2023 season has found the end zone more times by himself than the Titans’ entire offense.
So Tennessee needs every edge it can find. A rookie snapping the ball for the first time in a start, no Hendrickson coming off the edge, and question marks around Flowers and Stanley all count.
Add in whatever Saleh has cooked up at right guard, and the Titans at least have a puncher’s chance of getting into the victory column. . . against Derrick Henry, of all people.
