UPDATE: Ja’Marr Chase has officially been declared OUT for the rest of the game with a concussion.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase took a scary hit against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chase caught a swing pass from quarterback Joe Burrow during the second quarter and was tackled by the facemask by cornerback Jarrion Jones. His head was jerked away from where his momentum was taking him, and linebacker Ventrell Jones came in as he was going to the ground and hit him in the head/neck area.

Chase laid on the ground as trainers rushed onto the field to look at him. He was taken into the blue tent and then the locker room after the drive ended in a field goal for Cincinnati.

Ja’Marr Chase official injury status

The Bengals have declared Chase questionable to return as he’s getting checked out for a possible concussion.

Cincinnati was already light on receivers entering this week. Andrei Iosivas is on the Reserve/Injured list. Rookie Colbie Young is out with a knee injury. Tee Higgins and Dohnte Meyers were the starters along with Chase, and Mitch Tinsley is still available as well.

The Bengals do have all five of their tight ends active, so they’ll lean on them to get through the rest of the game if Chase cannot return.
