Two Miami Dolphins included among some fresh NFL trade deadline speculation
Two members of the Miami Dolphins roster were included in a fresh batch of NFL trade deadline speculation.
The Miami Dolphins spent this offseason saying goodbye to a whole bunch of household names from the last iteration of the team. It was a ruthless process, albeit a necessary one.
Miami has since gotten back in the saddle and has played a month’s worth of football with their new nucleus. But even as the page turns and the dust settles, there are some lingering holdovers from the last version of the team who could, in theory, find themselves joining the club. Some fresh NFL trade deadline speculation named two veteran Dolphins as players to watch.
Miami Dolphins veterans Zach Sieler & Austin Jackson named amid NFL trade deadline speculation

“(Tackle Austin) Jackson is young, affordable, and holds extensive starting experience—qualities every team values when searching for tackle depth.
Even as a swing tackle, he appeals to contenders dealing with injuries along the offensive line. His team-friendly reworked contract makes him easy to move, and as an impending unrestricted free agent on a rebuilding Miami roster, executives expect him to be made available.”

La Canfora also mentioned defensive tackle Zach Sieler as a name to know — although his inclusion felt a bit more speculative that what was said outright about Jackson. “Executives expect him to be made available.”
It’s probably fair to say that Miami should be trying to find some kind of business to conduct. This team still needs extra NFL Draft capital to help aid their long-term rebuild. And Miami does not have much extra capital for 2027. If the team were to find any pick offers of value for either player — it would be something Miami would have to consider.
Sieler is not in a contract year but he’s a high-priced veteran who is on the north side of 30. And Jackson is in the final year of his current deal. Both have only base salary remaining in the way of compensation. A team trading for either would need to accommodate less than $1 million in salary.
The conditions are right for both names to garner calls. And the Dolphins’ long-term circumstances would necessitate the team to consider.
