‘Gonna be a heck of a game’ – Steve Spurrier shares who he thinks will win the Alabama vs Tennessee game
The Tennessee Volunteers will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in a big SEC showdown on Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium.
The Tennessee Vols will host the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend in a game that’s very important for both programs.
Both teams are 5-1 and very much in the College Football Playoff mix. Whichever team loses this game, though, will essentially need to win out to have a shot at the playoff.
Alabama is currently favored by 8.5 points despite the game being in Knoxville.
Tennessee is looking for its third straight win over Alabama in Knoxville since 1996-2000.
Former Florida Gators head coach Steve Spurrier has Alabama winning
Former Florida Gators head coach Steve Spurrier said this week on Inside the Huddle that he thinks Alabama will win what should be a “heck of a game.”
“That’s going to be a heck of a game,” said Spurrier. “Tennessee can play some good defense, but I think Alabama is the best team.”
Show host Steve Russell agreed.
“Is Alabama hung over a little bit (after the Georgia game)?” said Russell. “Do they start slow. Can Tennessee take advantage? I like Bama close.”
It sounds like both Spurrier and Russell are expecting a tight game, but they each have Alabama surviving in Knoxville.
Tennessee and Alabama will kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday. The game will air on ABC.
