One of Tennessee’s offseason transfer additions was named this week as one of the top under-the-radar portal additions of the 2026 college football season so far.

247Sports listed 22 under-the-radar transfer players who are making a major impact this season.

Vols offensive guard Donovan Haslam was among the players listed.

Haslam transferred from West Virginia to Tennessee this past January.

“The offensive line hasn’t always been a strength for Tennessee this year — just watch the Texas game — but Haslam’s been a bright spot,” wrote 247Sports’ Chris Hummer. “Outside of the Texas game, Haslam’s allowed just one pressure this season in 211 snaps. And the numbers still aren’t that bad if you include his three pressures surrendered against the Longhorns. More importantly, Haslam is helping an explosive Tennessee run game. The Vols rank 19th nationally in yards created before contact per carry. Not bad for a late portal add from West Virginia.”

Haslam moved into the starting lineup full time for the Vols after left guard Wendell Moe was injured earlier this season. The West Virginia transfer is starting at right guard with Nic Moore emerging as the top option at left guard.

“Absolutely the most physical dude since I’ve been here,” said Vols offensive line coach Glen Elarbee of Haslam prior to the season. “Not even a question. He’s violent. Like, violent. That’s his superpower. He’s a little bit heavy and he gets tired, doesn’t move the way he should, he knows that and he’s got to get that right.

“If you were building a superhero squad, he would be the violent and powerful one and the guys love seeing that. They love when he’s starting to understand that mentally and he’s able to do things technique-wise that everyone cheers for him in the room. It’s cool to see.”

It took Haslam a few weeks to find his footing in Tennessee’s offense, but he’s proving to be an important addition over the last few games.
