The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2026 season is hanging by a thread at 1-5 after yet another home loss last weekend, this time a come-from-ahead 26-19 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bucs were in full control of the game at one point, leading 13-0 late in the first half.

But with the NFC South being its usual underwhelming self, the Bucs aren’t truly out of the picture even with just one win through six weeks. And they’ll get a shot against the division leading Carolina Panthers on Sunday to try and turn their fortunes around in a significant way.

There’s still no word on whether franchise QB Baker Mayfield will be ready this week after a three-game absence as he works to recover from a dislocated thumb. If not, rookie Jalon Daniels will earn the start for at least one more week.

The Panthers are at 3-2 after defeating the Jalen Hurts-less Eagles on Sunday in Philadelphia 25-14. Chuba Hubbard is well on his way to eclipsing 1000 rushing yards on the season with 426 in five games, and Tetairoa McMillan has followed up an offensive rookie of the year campaign with another strong year with 471 receiving yards on 32 catches.

Tampa Bay lost in Charlotte last year back on Dec. 21, falling 23-20 after the Panthers turned back the Bucs in plus territory on a Baker Mayfield interception inside the final two minutes.

Can the Bucs do better this time around? And will you be able to catch the game on TV? Per 506 Sports, the game won’t have too much of a broadcast range this weekend.
