ESPN’s Greg McElroy revealed his updated top 15 on Wednesday, and there was quite a bit of movement thanks to last weekend’s wild slate.

A week ago, McElroy, who called Tennessee’s 26-10 win over Alabama for ESPN, had the Vols outside of his top 15.

This week, McElroy has Tennessee at No. 8.

“At No. 8, it’s Tennessee,” said McElroy. “Tennessee is 6-1, and they beat Alabama 26-10. DeSean Bishop ran for 159 yards. The Vols also beat Auburn, and their only loss is by three to Texas at home. Their strength of record is seventh, and the defense ranks third in efficiency. Now, the asterisk right now is game control. It hasn’t been great. They’re 19th right now, and that’s probably the only thing that’s not allowing them to climb up just a little bit more.”

Here’s McElroy’s current top 15.

  1. BYU
  2. Miami
  3. Ohio State
  4. Indiana
  5. Georgia
  6. Ole Miss
  7. Kentucky
  8. Tennessee
  9. UCLA
  10. Notre Dame
  11. Utah
  12. Texas
  13. Alabama
  14. Wake Forest
  15. Texas Tech

Tennessee is ranked No. 11 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll, so McElroy is a little higher on the Volunteers than the AP voters.
