‘Surprised the heck out of me’ – Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops predicts who will win the Tennessee vs South Carolina game
The Tennessee Volunteers will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia this weekend.
Former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops did not pick Tennessee to beat Alabama last weekend.
This week, though, Stoops is going against the grain and picking Tennessee to beat South Carolina (nearly everyone in the national media has picked the Gamecocks to beat the Vols in Columbia on Saturday).
“That surprised the heck out of me,” said Stoops when it was noted that South Carolina is favored to beat Tennessee. “I saw that earlier in the week. But I’m going to take Tennessee.
“I just think overall they’re playing really well and South Carolina has shown some hiccups. … I’m going to take Tennessee. Their defense is really playing great. … I just really think the defense has made a difference for Tennessee.”
Tennessee and South Carolina will kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday. The game will air on ESPN.
