Safety Vonn Bell just did something a Carolina Panthers safety hasn't done since 2021 — snag an interception.
Yes, that is right. Panthers safeties hadn't forced an interception since 2021. And it was Bell who finally broke the drought.
Take a look at the play made by Bell, who picked New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr off on 3rd-and-5 late in the second quarter with the Saints leading 6-3:
Bell arrived with the Panthers by way of a March free-agency deal.
Bell, who spent the previous three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, had a career-high four interceptions and two forced fumbles in the 2022 NFL season.
The Panthers brought him in to be a stabilizing presence in the locker room. And already, Bell is breaking Panthers droughts.
