As usual, the South Florida high school football scene has more (way, way more) of its fair share of talent than almost anywhere else across the country. And that’s certainly the case for the 2027 class as well.

Chief among the offensive playmakers is Miami Carol City WR Nick Lennear. The 6-foot, 165-pound wide receiver is a consensus industry five star recruit and one of the most sought after players in the nation this year.

However, Lennear delivered one of the biggest recruiting wins of the year for Mario Cristobal. The uber-talented wideout pulled the trigger on the Hurricanes back on March 5, one of three players currently listed as a five-star recruit according to On3 Sports/Rivals industry rankings.

And that elite talent was on full display this week in South Florida. 305 Sports put on a 7-on-7 event at St. Thomas University featuring many of the best players in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties.

And it was Lennear who had perhaps the play of the event.

Miami 2027 5-star commit Nick Lennear makes highlight reel catch at 7-on-7 event

Lennear got free from his defender, Texas A&M commit Loia Valade, with a nifty double move and booked it down the field and into the end zone. The ball arrived, but Valade had close the gap and gotten back on Lennear. However, Lennear, juggled and pulled the ball down with a foot inbounds for the touchdown.

Lennear has the look of an instant playmaker and potential difference maker when he gets on campus next spring. With Malachi Toney having at least one more year left at Miami in 2027, he and Lennear could prove to be a potent, two-headed monster that could be extremely tough for opposing teams to handle.
