The Oregon Ducks have been one of the best schools in the nation when it comes to recruiting. Head coach Dan Lanning has been tremendous at landing top recruits. On Friday afternoon, Lanning did it again, landing five-star wide receiver Keon Sabb.

“I feel like it’s the best chance to winning a national championship,” Sabb said during his commitment.

Landing Sabb gives the Ducks their 16th blue chip recruit, tying them with the Florida Gators and Texas A&M Aggies for second in the nation, while also being third in the nation for the 2027 class as a whole. Sabb is their second five-star recruit, joining edge rusher Rashad Streets.

Out of Glassboro, New Jersey, Sabb is the No. 32 overall recruit and the No. 5 wide receiver in the class of 2027. One thing he highlighted during his commitment was how good of a relationship he had with Lanning.

“Really great relationship with him [Dan Lanning]. I’ve had a relationship with him for super long [freshman year]. Great guy, always kept in touch and always high energy when he spoke.

That is one of the biggest reasons why the Ducks have been recruiting at such a high level over the last few years. They have now landed a five-star wide receiver in each of the last five recruiting classes.

  • 2026: Jalen Lott
  • 2025: Dakorien Moore
  • 2024: Gatlin Bair
  • 2023: Jurrion Dickey

That is a massive reason why the offense has been as explosive as it’s been. Plus, they have landed impactful transfers like Evan Stewart and Gary Bryant, along with top tight end talents. Even if they all don’t hit at a high level, the more talented players you add, the better off you are.

This isn’t the end for the Ducks, but it’s certainly a great spot to be in.
