The Texas Longhorns are finally back! There was plenty of doubt when Steve Sarkisian arrived in Austin given his prior head coaching track record at both Washington and USC, but it turns out he was the right man for the job.
Sarkisian is fresh off taking the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff and looks to be reloading the roster for another run in 2024. It was high time the university pay the man for taking the team back to the promised land, and they did not hold back.
Details of Sarkisian's contract include an escalating salary above $10 million dollars every single year through 2030, private jets, cars, massive incentive bonuses for post-season performance, and more (as you can see in the post below).
It's one of the most lucrative contracts in college football history and Sarkisian might just be worth every penny.
Texas is losing a handful of incredible players to the 2024 NFL Draft this spring, but Sarkisian has already put in the work to bring in excellent replacements via recruiting and the Transfer Portal.
Here are just a few of the new incoming stars set to have an immediate impact (and where they came from) thanks to Sarkisian's Transfer Portal work:
- Isaiah Bond, WR Alabama
- Andrew Mukuba, DB Clemson
- Amari Niback, TE Alabama
- Matthew Golden, WR Houston
- Silas Bolden, WR Oregon State
- Trey Moore, EDGE UTSA
- Tiaoalii Savea, DL Texas
If Steve Sarkisian continues his recruiting and transfer dominance there's no reason Texas can't continue making the College Football Playoff most every season in the coming years, especially in the new expanded format. This new contract secures that potential future for Longhorns fans who have been waiting more than a decade for a coach like Sarkisian finally be the difference they needed.
