The Cowboys kicked off their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert turned heads by showing his versatility, and undrafted kicker Jonathan Garibay showed some positive signs. However, if Cowboys fans were hoping to see if Tony Pollard would be more involved in the offense on Wednesday, they’ll have to wait.

Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy is emphasizing team bonding. Therefore, what was supposed to be their second minicamp practice has been canceled.

The team then decided to cancel Thursday’s practice, as well.

After the Cowboys had their 12-5 campaign in 2021 ended abruptly in the first round with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which saw them get physically dominated, it’s only right that they would want a strong nucleus on and off the field so that they can perform at a much higher level in the postseason going forward.

They’ll be tested early with the Tampa Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Los Angeles Rams in the first five weeks, who all made the playoffs last season. The Cowboys didn’t play well against playoff teams in 2021 so they’ll need to remedy that early this season, and these types of chemistry-building exercises can assist in that.
