At this time of the year, there's a cliche constantly put out there by several NFL players across the league. They are so repetitive that some fans will scroll down past such headlines every single time at this point.
Recently, the same words came out of Dak Prescott's mouth as he prepares for his seventh season as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
"I'm in the best shape that I've ever been in."
And yet, Prescott's words shouldn't be taken lightly. It's the same old quote we hear every year, but Dak's offseason preparation has not actually nbeen the same as before.
In fact, he's changed things upo by training "more functional" and hiring a full-time physical trainer.
This is the full quote from the Dallas Cowboys official website:
"I got a PT in the offseason – someone I've worked with throughout the last year. I've paid him, made him full-time, my guy. Whether it's vacation or not, he comes with me. We work on these movements and stretches. I feel like, since the injury, I've trained more functional than I ever have. So, I see it in my body, I see it the way I move and how the ball is coming out."
Prescott has always stood out for his work ethic. His famous "Dak Yard" is famous around Cowboys Twitter and he's constantly gathering players to work out in the offseason. Him sending Jalen Tolbert the playbook as soon as the wide receiver was drafted is among the most recent examples of how Dak gets the "little things" right.
That kind of preparation led to major praise from NFL Network's Good Morning Football's Rachel Bonnetta who claimed Prescott is giving him vibes similar to one of the greatest players in football history:
"This is giving me Tom Brady vibes. This is giving me 'taking care of my body before it is completely broken down' (vibes). He is putting in that work."
Bonnetta added that we have really seen a different, "absolutely jacked" Dak Prescott this year.

It isn't the first time Dak Prescott receives comparisons to Tom Brady, as many have pointed out that the Cowboys quarterback is one of the finest leaders in the NFL.
In the same segment, Tom Pelissero talked about the Cowboys' signal-caller style. "The thing you hear with Dak Prescott is he wants to do everything 100 miles an hour all the time. He's going to push himself and do extra reps."
