The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles tonight on Monday Night Football. Games between the two are always intense, but this one has some early-season implications in the NFC East.

Both the Giants and the Washington Football Team both lost on Sunday in forgettable performances. This means that the winner of tonight’s game will have sole possession of first place in the division. We’re still very early in the season, but it still matters to get a leg-up in the NFC East.

As the Cowboys try to stake claim as the team to beat in the NFC East, the passing game could be relied upon. More specifically, the duo of Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lambs should have opportunities to have a big performance in primetime.

Amari Cooper has seemingly owned the Eagles — especially at home — since joining the Cowboys in 2018. Prescott and Cooper have formed a connection that several teams across the league have struggled to contain. That certainly includes the Eagles.

Cooper has put up numbers nearly time that he has lined up against the Eagles since putting on the Cowboys uniform. Not only is he undefeated at home versus Philadelphia, Amari Cooper has totaled 30 catches for 548 yards and three touchdowns.

That includes a monster 10-catch, 217-yard, three-touchdown performance in 2018 with Prescott on fire. It also includes a 100-yard performance with Andy Dalton throwing passes.

Cooper is dealing with cracked ribs, but he is set to start versus the Eagles on Monday. The Eagles secondary will have their hands full defending the Cowboys’ star wideout.

CeeDee Lamb has yet to play against the Eagles with Dak Prescott at quarterback. Think about that — Monday will be the first time that the Eagles have had to face the combination of Prescott at quarterback with Lamb out wide.

That has to be a scary thought for the Eagles, especially when considering the kind of success that Cooper has had against them.

Last season, Lamb posted a three-catch, 65-yard, one-touchdown performance in a 37-17 win over Philadelphia in week 15. That included a 52-yard catch-and-run that pushed the Cowboys’ lead to 27-17.

Even without Michael Gallup on the field, the Dallas Cowboys passing attack could be hitting all on cylinders on Monday Night. Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb have a chance to feast against the Eagles.
