NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, one of the biggest personalities in sports, had an outside the box suggestion for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones this week.

Shaq thinks Jones should hire former Dallas cornerback Deion Sanders as the Cowboys’ next head coach.

Sanders is currently the head coach at Jackson State, where he led the Tigers to an 11-2 record in 2021. He also just landed the nation’s top-rated recruit (Travis Hunter) at Jackson State.

While Sanders is doing better than many expected at Jackson State, I’m not sure Jones would look to him to lead the Cowboys.

But then again, why not? None of Jones’ other hires have panned out the way he wanted. So maybe it’s time to go outside the box and try something new.

After all, Sanders knows what it takes to win in Dallas — he has a Super Bowl ring to prove it.
