The Dallas Mavericks looked much more efficient than in the season opener, in which they struggled shooting the ball.

The first half started sloppily but the 2nd half was a team that looked more focused on not starting the season 0-2.

After falling behind by as much as 16 points, the Mavericks somehow found a way to win 103-95.

Let’s take a looks at three key factors on how they picked up the win.

Tim Hardaway Jr’s 2nd half rain day

Hardaway Jr stepped up huge for the Mavericks in the second half as he finished with 25 points, shooting 7-11 from three.

Hardaway Jr’s contribution helped the Mavericks overcome a 16-point deficit and gave the team a big boost.

He always had this type of scoring ability, the Mavs needed to see it on a more consistent basis.

Fans will pay close attention to him throughout the season, but he displayed why he received a contract extension.

Luka Doncic bounces back

Luka Doncic looked more focused this game as he led the Mavericks in scoring with 27 points.

He nearly posted a triple-double as he also had nine rebounds to go along with 12 assists.

Tonight was the type of performance we have seen repetitively over the past three seasons.

The Mavericks go as Luka goes, so when he has a dominant performance, the team has a chance to win any game.

Luka may have a lot of attempts per game but he gives the offense a chance every time he is on the floor.

Kristaps Porzingis double-double performance

Kristaps Porzingis looked good in his second game as the season opener loss was a rough one for him.

He was the second player to finish with a double-double with 18 points, shooting 7-20 from the field and 10 rebounds.

Rebounding has never been a great attribute of Porzingis throughout his career, but tonight he stepped up to the challenge.

For Dallas to have any meaningful success this season, they will need Porzingis to be one of the top scorers and contributors.

Jason Kidd believes in the Porzingis and feels that he can be a great player this season.

The only person who can stop Porzingis from reaching greater heights is himself.

Is this win fool’s gold?

This win now will give the entire team a boost of confidence and momentum going into next week.

We will see how the Mavs respond after a come-from-behind victory.
