The Thomas news comes on the heels of the Lions waiving Chase Lucas on Monday and then taking Emmanuel Moseley off the PUP list. That should open the door for Steven Gilmore to make the Lions 53 man roster. That would leave the Lions with six cornerbacks pending the waiver of Khalil Dorsey.
Thomas shouldn't get far though. The Lions will definitely be looking to add him their practice squad if he clears waivers on Wednesday. There's still a chance we'll see Thomas play with the Lions in 2023. The team often will play their practice squad players.
