The Kansas City Chiefs have quite an obstacle coming ahead on Sunday where they will play the Buffalo Bills. Some Chiefs fans will say, “why should the Chiefs be worried if they beat the Bills the last two times?” However, things are different now.
The Chiefs have started much worse than they did last year. The defense looks much worse, and the offense has had its struggles through the first half. The biggest part is the Buffalos Bills defense this season.
Buffalo has statistically the best defense in the NFL. They rank 1st in yards allowed, passing yards allowed, points per game allowed, and total turnovers forced. To make matters even worse, the Bills are 4th in rushing yards allowed. They have gotten to this point because of these three players on the defense.
Buffalo Bills three defensive anchors
Tremaine Edmunds, LB:
The fourth-year linebacker is making strides this year and propelling the Bills defense to new heights. The two-time pro-bowler is making an interesting case for a third straight appearance with the work he has done so far.
In just the four games he has played, Edmunds already has some impressive stats. With 21 tackles, he leads the team in that area. Not to mention the linebacker also has two pass deflections and an interception. It is safe to say he can really do it all.
Micah Hyde, S:
Widely regarded as one of the league’s best safeties, Micah Hyde is getting it done once again. The pro bowler is the leader of the defensive backfield and consistently makes his teammates better.
Not only can Hyde display his skills as a ballhawk with two interceptions and four pass deflections. However, he also can get to the quarterback with a sack so far this year. It won’t help the Chiefs any either that he always seems to find the ball and make a play with 19 total tackles on the season.
Matt Milano, LB:
The mike linebacker is considered to be their leader at times. Last season, he did not play in one of the matchups against the Chiefs, and Bills fans think he could have made the difference. While that may be true, it is in the past, and only next week matters.
Milano brings an edge to the Bills defense, and especially to the linebacker group. Like many guys on this defense, he also finds a way to end the play by the ball. While the 19 total tackles are impressive, the fact that he has two fumble recoveries in week four is as well. The Chiefs offensive line may struggle a bit too. Milano is great at putting pressure on the quarterback and getting through the offensive line with a sack and six tackles for losses on the season already.
Like we said before, this will be a battle for the Chiefs. These names are nothing new to Kansas City, but they must play a great game offensively or these players can take over.
