The Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff run is over after a 27-24 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

Kansas City blew an 18 point lead against the Bengals — partially because quarterback Patrick Mahomes uncharacteristically had a poor second half.

It was the first time in Mahomes’ career that he had lost a game when leading by 15 points or more (he was previously 37-0).

After the game, Mahomes made it clear that anything less than a Super Bowl win is unacceptable for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are still one of the best teams in the NFL. On Sunday, the Bengals were better. That’s how it goes in professional sports.

I have no doubt that Mahomes and the Chiefs will be back stronger than ever in 2022.

Kansas City will once again be a Super Bowl favorite next season. Mahomes is an elite competitor and this loss is only going to light a fire in him.

The former Texas Tech standout will be looking to prove a lot of folks wrong in 2022.
