How the tables have turned. usually, the Chiefs and Cowboys records are flipped. Now, the Cowboys are having the better season, and the Chiefs are playing poorly.
Despite what anyone says, the Chiefs have had a poor season, especially when holding them to the standards of the last few years. It is much reminding of the Cowboys the last few seasons, and how they were expected to be good, but just weren’t.
Yes, the Chiefs are 6-4 and have won the last few games. However, they still are not looking like what we are used to. The Cowboys, on the other hand, are having a great season.
Dallas is one of the best offenses in football, and their defense is definitely on the rise. Now, the Chiefs need to do these three things on Sunday to get a win.
The Chiefs have a tough to-do list against Dallas
Keep Dallas’s defense on the field:
The Cowboy’s defense is no slouch, but they are certainly not better than the offense. When you have weapons like Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliot, and a few others, your offense is supposed to be good. Which is exactly why you would rather have the defense on the field than the offense.
Therefore, the Chiefs may need to play a more slow style of offense. They need to run the ball and make short but effective throws. Dallas offense can’t outscore the Chiefs when they aren’t on the field.
The Chiefs need to recognize the blitz:
The Chiefs offensive line is a bit banged up on the right side, which means that Andrew Wylie may be starting. No knock on Wylie, but he is not better than whom he is replacing.
The bad part about that is that Wylie will have to deal with Dallas sending Micah parsons to blitz the right side. Parsons may be a rookie, but he is lightning quick and is already showing signs of being a game wrecker. We all know that when Mahomes does not have time to throw, the Chiefs play badly.
Try not to take too many shots downfield:
The Dallas Cowboys have a cornerback on their team who is pretty good, and you may have heard of him sometime this year. Trevon Diggs has been putting on a show and is at the top of the list for defensive player of the year so far.
In just ten games this season, Diggs has seven interceptions. It seems as if he always finds his way to the ball, and the Chiefs have been known this season to have plenty of turnovers.
