The Las Vegas Raiders got some huge news overnight on Sunday morning. At 1 A.M., just hours before the game day feel even sets in, the Raiders let everyone know what they would be doing with their starting quarterback situation.
Jimmy Garoppolo, who is in concussion protocol, was ruled out on Saturday. So, we knew a backup would be playing on Sunday; we just didn't know if it would be the rookie, Aidan O'Connell, or the veteran, Brian Hoyer.
On Sunday morning, Ian Pelissero of NFL Network announced that O'Connell is expected to start.
O'Connell took the football world by storm in the preseason. He was doing things that no one expected.
We will see if O'Connell has what it takes to be the starter after this week. He has a lot on his shoulders coming into the game, but you know fans must be excited to see O'Connell play on Sunday.
