As we have said for two weeks now, the Las Vegas Raiders are struggling. They couldn’t buy a win right now, as awful as that sounds. It seems like they simply just can’t do anything right, on either side of the ball.
Yes, there are some positives, like the offensive line getting better, and other players like Mack Hollins stepping up, but the team still isn’t winning, and isn’t that what it’s all about?
The Raiders are receiving a ton of criticism around the league, and rightfully so. They have an amazing roster on paper, but it’s not being put together.
To stop that criticism, it’s simple really. Do one thing.
“I think if we win two of the three, or three of these games… but that’s football, man,” Derek Carr said when asked about all the criticism the team has received. “I take responsibility for that, I mean we haven’t won this year. That solves everything, as you know.
“When we went on our run last year a lot of stuff got overlooked because we were winning. But at the end of the day, it’s all about winning, and we are going to do whatever we can to make sure we stay focused on that. If we start getting into all the other stuff, we are playing the game for the wrong reasons, so we have to win to solve those problems.”
It really is as simple as that.
We know this fanbase and the image that is the Las Vegas Raiders. They are one of the biggest and most well-known sports teams in the world when it comes to American sports.
The fanbase is everywhere, across the world. So, the criticism will come, especially when the team is playing badly. It even comes when they are playing well, like last season when the team made the playoffs.
This team could easily be 3-0 right now. All of the games they have lost were decided by no more than six points, meaning they could have scored one more time and won the game. So, I think it’s fair to say things could be pretty different right now for Raider Nation had a few more things go their way.
The Denver Broncos are struggling this season, too, even at 2-1 on the year. Like last week, this is the perfect opportunity to try and win a game against an opponent that isn’t playing great.
They need to do that this Sunday if they want to shut people up.
