And Jackson immediately received a couple of good-natured jabs from head coach Mike Vrabel.
The former Vol, however, took the jabs in stride and let his actions on the field do the talking.
Here’s what happened:
Former Vols defensive back Kenneth George, who received a rookie tryout from the Titans, was also on the field this weekend.
George was giving Jackson some encouragement when Vrabel made a comment about a “cheerleader from Rocky Top”.
On the very next play, Jackson intercepted a pass from quarterback Malik Willis — the only interception of the day.

Another thing that stood out today, new #Titans DB Theo Jackson seems to always be around the football. He picked off Malik Willis today & was right there on a couple of other throws.— TURRON DAVENPORT (@TDavenport_NFL) May 14, 2022
A lot of draft analysts felt like the Titans reached when they selected Jackson in the sixth round. But the former Vol, who is from Nashville, is already proving that he was worthy of being selected in the sixth round, instead of being an undrafted free agent like many predicted he would be.
Jackson obviously still has a long way to go to prove he can be a key player for the Titans, but he’s quickly off to a good start.
