Prior to the Tennessee Vols' matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, someone (most assume a UT fan) leaked UGA quarterback Stetson Bennett's phone number.
Bennett was inundated with phone calls and texts on Friday night.
After scoring a touchdown in the first half, Bennett referenced the incident with his celebration by holding his fingers up to his ear like a phone.
After the game, Bennett was asked about the celebration and what led to it.
"I'm sure everybody else knows what it's about," said Bennett about the celebration.
Bennett said he got around 600 or 700 calls/texts after his number was leaked (he said he didn't return any of the calls/texts).
"I wouldn't say motivation, [but] there's probably something there, yeah," added Bennett when asked if his leaked phone number was motivation against the Vols.
Things like this happen in college sports often. And while I don't think it's the reason Tennessee lost the game to Georgia, it certainly lit a bit of a fire under Bennett and the rest of the Bulldogs' offense.
