Tennessee Vols running back Jaylen Wright sent a tweet on Tuesday that has some fans concerned.

Wright sent a tweet that may or may not be related to football that suggested he could be looking around for a new program or NIL deal.

“Dis a business, nun (nothing) personal,” read the tweet.

Wright proved to be a key player for the Vols this season, rushing for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns while playing alongside Jabari Small and Dylan Sampson.

The North Carolina native was supposed to be the speed compliment to Small’s more bruising style of running, but Wright showed he can be an extremely physical runner this season too.

There have been rumblings that Tennessee could look to add a running back from the portal this offseason. If that’s the case, then I could see Wright or one of the other running backs exploring the portal.

I think the Vols should stick with what they have at running back. They have a nice trio in Wright/Sampson/Small and they have some impressive talent in their 2023 recruiting class. Adding a transfer and losing someone to the portal could impact team chemistry in a negative way.

We’ll keep an eye on Wright and whether or not this tweet was indicative of his potential desire to transfer.
