The Nashville Predators are not usually the focus of the NHL’s hype machine over at NHL Network, but that looks to change in September.

It was announced today that the NHL’s “Behind The Glass” series will be following the Nashville Predators for its third installment. The series is an “all access” look at NHL team training camps, similar to HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series which follows NFL teams.

The first two seasons of “Behind The Glass” followed the New Jersey Devils in 2018 (which featured current Preds head coach John Hynes as coach of the Devils) and the Philadelphia Flyers in 2019. The show did not run in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2022 training camp for the Preds has plenty of interesting storylines. The initial camp battles for 2nd line winger and 4th line center might be the focus initially, but questions surround the team’s newcomers as well. Where will Ryan McDonagh play on the blue line? Where will Nino Niederreiter fit in? Who will claim the backup goaltender role? Which rookie will claim an open spot left behind by the departure of Nick Cousins and Luke Kunin?

Of course, there’s also the intrigue of the Predators’ upcoming European travels.  The Preds will depart for Switzerland in early October ahead of their preseason game against SC Bern on October 3rd. Then the Preds open the NHL season in Prague, Czech Republic against the San Jose Sharks on October 7th & 8th.

The “Behind The Scenes” episodes from the European travels should give plenty of insight into this team’s early chemistry and locker room dynamics.

The schedule for every episode of the series is as follows:

  • Friday, September 30: Episode 1 (10:00 p.m. ET)
  • Tuesday, October 4: Episode 2 (10:00 p.m. ET)
  • Tuesday, October 11: Episode 3 (8:00 p.m. ET)
  • Tuesday, October 18: Episode 4 (9:00 p.m. ET)

All episodes will air on NHL Network, with exclusive clips to also appear on the Preds and NHL social media sites.
