Roman Josi is having an incredible season for the Nashville Predators. He’s already set the record for most assists all time in franchise history, and he’s on pace to break the single season record for assists and points, set by Paul Kariya back in 2005-06.

In only 58 games, Josi already has 17 goals and 52 assists, for a total of 69 points.

The one time Norris Trophy winner is most likely going to be at least a finalist for the trophy again this year. In all likelihood, he could win his 2nd trophy as the league’s best defenseman.

Which is what makes the latest Vegas odds for Josi winning so enticing.

Vegas odds on Josi winning tough to pass up

The latest odds update by Vegas Insider shows Roman Josi at +1500 odds to win the Norris Trophy. This gives him the 4th best odds in the NHL to win the trophy, behind Cale Makar (-300), Victor Hedman (+350), and Adam Fox (+800).

For a guy that leads all NHL defensemen in points, that’s pretty damn good odds.

More often than not, the Norris Trophy winner ends up being the defenseman with the most points. Sadly, defense is not the major requirement, though Josi’s defense has also been very good this year.

But seriously… if the voting were tomorrow, how could the Norris go to anyone but Roman Josi?

I know, I know… the voting isn’t tomorrow. The Preds have 22 more games on the schedule. And Josi will have to maintain his current pace (or better) to keep the lead.

But +1500 odds are insanely good odds to go with for the guy who is the clear leader of the pack with only a month and a half to go. (note that the tweet below showed last week’s odds, which were higher)

Please consider this if you do place a bet based on anything I’ve said here. Also, keep in mind that your favorite betting site might have slightly different odds.

Having said that, as I said above, you should run (not walk) to put at least a few bucks on Roman Josi to win the Norris Trophy this year.
