Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is widely regarded as the best quarterback in the NFL, and by the time his career ends, he may just go down as the greatest in the history of the sport.

As if it wasn't already obvious from his 64-16 career record, two MVP awards, and two Super Bowl wins, Mahomes is nearly impossible to contain. But as great as he is, Mahomes always seems to have problems with the Tennessee Titans and head coach Mike Vrabel.

In three career regular season games against Tennessee, Mahomes has a 1-2 record with five total touchdowns, two interceptions, and one fumble. The Titans are the only team outside of the AFC West with double-digit sacks (10) against Mahomes and the next highest total is the Buffalo Bills with six.

Looking back as recently as the 2022 season, Tennessee went to overtime with the future Super Bowl champion Chiefs on the road in Arrowhead Stadium with Malik Willis starting at quarterback. The Titans completed just five passes in a game that went to OT while Mahomes threw for 446 yards on 68 attempts.

How is that possible? Because Mike Vrabel always gets the most out of his players and always puts his physical football team in a position to succeed. The Titans are well prepared for every game and the NFL's best player has taken notice.

Mahomes starred in the first season of the new Netflix docuseries 'Quarterback,' which followed three NFL quarterbacks for the 2022 season to give the audience an exclusive look at what their daily lives consist of. Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons were also featured.

Here's what Mahomes had to say about Vrabel and the Titans in the fourth episode of the show titled 'Mind Games':

"The Tennessee Titans defense man…They’re one of the toughest opponents in the league," said Mahomes. "Coach Vrabel is a great coach. They have a great game plan every single week."

"I know people joke around about it but it’s kind of like you’re facing the Patriots in the early 2000's I feel like. Vrabel has obviously learned from Coach Belichick. They have more wrinkles and things that you don’t expect. You have to be physical and battle to the very end every single time," Mahomes continued. "I know when we play the Tennessee Titans that it’s always going to be a hard fought battle."

They say that game recognizes game, and high praise from Mahomes carries a lot of weight nowadays. If Patrick Mahomes is consistently having a difficult time against Mike Vrabel's defense, it's no wonder Tennessee is 7th in points allowed since Vrabel took the job and regularly contending for a playoff spot.
