The Tennessee Titans put an end to the week with quite the bomb in the NFL news cycle as A to Z Sports reported DeAndre Hopkins is signing with the franchise.
The star wide receiver is headed to Nashville, the first team he visited as a free agent in June. Moments after the news broke, contract details emerged on his contract with the Titans.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $26 million over two years. However, Hopkins stands to earn more than that through incentives.
Specifically, Hopkins can earn up to $6 million more through incentives ($3 million per year).
For the 2023 NFL season, the three-time First-Team All-Pro will receive a base salary of $12 million with the potential to earn up to $15 million.
Hopkins had reportedly been seeking a deal similar to Odell Beckham Jr.'s contract with the Baltimore Ravens, who signed a one-year deal for a fully guaranteed $15 million.
With a relatively similar deal for D-Hop, the Titans have finally addressed a painfully obvious need at wide receiver. Hopkins will join a wide receiver group that includes Treylon Burks, Kyle Phillips, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.
