The Lady Vols will host UConn on Thursday night in Thompson-Boling Arena in what will be the fourth matchup between the two historic programs in the last four years.

UConn has won the previous three matchups against Tennessee.

On Monday night, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma met with reporters after his team’s 91-54 win against DePaul.

And he was of course asked about the upcoming game against the Lady Vols.

Auriemma praised the tough atmosphere in Knoxville before making a bizarre reference to the Beatles.

“The most challenging thing about playing Tennessee is the size factor, the athleticism factor,” said Auriemma. “The crowd factor that’s going to be down there. The circus-like atmosphere that surrounds a Connectituct /Tennessee game — even though it’s not quite at the level…it’s not the Beatles.”

“Not an easy place to play,” added Auriemma.

There’s no doubt it will be a raucous environment on Thursday night — especially with Tennessee currently riding a nine-game winning streak. A win over UConn would show that Kellie Harper undoubtedly has the Lady Vols on the right track.
