2027 5-star RB and top Tennessee Vols’ recruiting target David Gabriel Georges reveals when he plans to commit
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is one of the Tennessee Vols’ top recruiting targets.
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is one of the Tennessee Vols’ top recruiting targets.
Gabriel Georges, 6-foot, 205 pounds from Chattanooga, TN (originally from Quebec), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 running back in the nation and the No. 14 player in the 2027 recruiting class.
The dynamic running back is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation. Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio State are considered the three teams to beat for Gabriel Georges.
Gabriel Georges has visited each of those three programs for games this fall, including two trips to Tennessee.
The five-star running back told Vols on SI that his current plan is to take his official visits in the spring before announcing his commitment next summer.
“I’d like to do my official visits in the spring, and I will make a decision in the summer of 2026,” said Gabriel Georges to Vols on SI.
Vols insider says Tennessee currently has the momentum for David Gabriel Georges
Gabriel Georges won’t announce his commitment for another six to eight months, so there’s still a long way to go in this recruiting battle.
For now, though, Tennessee is the program with the “momentum” for Gabriel Georges.
“Ohio State and Georgia are the other two teams (in the mix for Gabriel Georges),” said VolQuest’s Austin Price to 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will earlier this week. “Tennessee is, to me, the team to beat right now. They have the most momentum as we head off into the high school playoffs. I don’t think he’ll take another visit this year. I think the likelihood is [that] he’s done.
“Tennessee’s got a lot of momentum there. They’ll just have to keep the momentum. That thing will drag into next year — like 90 percent of the recruitments will. And so you just have to keep the momentum. But currently, right now, they have a lot of momentum. And having Gabe Osenda and having Jamyan Theodore, two of his teammates, committed here, that’s huge for Tennessee. Because he is very relationship based, and he’s very tight with those kids.”
The Vols are doing a great job in this recruiting battle, but they’ll have to keep it up with Georgia and Ohio State also in hot pursuit.
