Alabama coaching search

Another name has been ruled out for Alabama in their search to replace Nick Saban.

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell tweeted on Friday afternoon that he's staying put in Tallahassee.

Norvell joins Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian as coaches that have removed themselves as options to replace Saban at Alabama.

Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer, who is coming off an appearance in the national championship game, appears to be the leading candidate to replace Saban.

DeBoer is 25-3 in his first two seasons at Washington. He was previously the head coach at Fresno State, where he went 12-6 in two seasons (including the COVID shortened 2020 season).
