When Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this week, he instantly became one of the most sought after transfer players on the market.
Proctor is a former five-star recruit who started for Alabama as a true freshman last season, playing 811 snaps for a team that nearly reached the College Football Playoff championship game.
He's the type of player that any program in the country could use. Proctor instantly improves any offensive line he joins, regardless of who is already on the roster.
According to On3's Pete Nakos, the Tennessee Vols are one of the programs that's "expressed interest" in Proctor this week.
"Sources have said Tennessee and Florida State have expressed interest, among plenty of other suitors," wrote Nakos.
Despite the interest from Tennessee and Florida State, Nakos has Iowa landing Proctor.
Proctor is from Des Moines, IA, so it makes sense that he'd transfer to a program that allows him to play close to home.
But until Proctor transfers, big time programs will continue to take a swing at landing the future NFL offensive lineman.
Tennessee, meanwhile, is still expected to receive a commitment from LSU transfer offensive tackle Zalance Heard, who is also a former five-star recruit that saw significant action as a true freshman this past season.
If the Vols land Heard, he would join John Campbell as one of Tennessee's starting offensive tackles next fall.
