Dallas Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton, a former Tennessee Vols standout, went viral this week for seemingly throwing some shade at his old team.
Milton, a sixth round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, spent his rookie season with the New England Patriots. The former Vol was traded to the Cowboys earlier this offseason.
Various reports indicated that Milton wanted out of New England because he wasn't going to have a chance to compete with Drake Maye for the starting quarterback job (Maye was the Patriots' first round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft).
Milton was asked this week about his relationship with Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott.
And Milton's answer included some shade that appeared to be directed at New England.
"Dak is a great leader…All respect to him. He literally goes out of his way to help me, no matter if the coach is talking in the meeting, he literally goes out of his way to help," said Milton (via DallasCowboys.com).
"I've been in another building. I know how that goes. It's just very different over here."
The only other NFL facility Milton has been in is New England's.
Milton was on the roster in New England last season with Maye (a fellow rookie) and veteran Jacoby Brissett.
It sounds like the quarterback room in New England last season wasn't necessarily "tight".
Fortunately for Milton, he's in a good spot now with the Cowboys.
