The Tennessee Vols will head to Atlanta this weekend to open the 2025 college football season against the Syracuse Orange.

Tennessee is looking to make an early statement this season after a spring/summer that was filled with plenty of off-the-field drama (quarterback Nico Iamaleava leaving for UCLA, defensive back Boo Carter’s status with the team).

The Vols are a two touchdown favorite against Syracuse despite the fact that both programs will feature new starting quarterbacks (Joey Aguilar for the Vols, Steve Angeli for the Orange).

Tennessee, though, has the more talented roster. And the Vols’ defense, which returns numerous key contributors from last season’s stellar unit, should be able to keep the Syracuse offense in check.

Earlier this week, the Georgia Aquarium had one of their dolphins, Salvador, predict the winner of the matchup between Tennessee and Syracuse.

Salvador doesn’t seen an upset happening in Atlanta on Saturday — he picked Tennessee to beat Syracuse.

Tennessee and Syracuse will kick off at 12:00 PM ET on Saturday. The game will air on ESPN.

There’s no word on whether Salvador will be in the building to cheer on the Volunteers.
