A pair of elite Tennessee Vols commits asked for a big favor from UT football fans this weekend.
2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre and 2025 four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley want fans to paint the rock on Tennessee's campus in honor of 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr, the Vols' biggest remaining recruiting target.
Utley also asked for fans to come out to the rock at 5:15 PM ET on Saturday to welcome Sanders to campus.
Sanders, who is rated as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the nation, is set to announce his commitment on August 17. The Charlotte, NC native arrived in Nebraska on Friday for a quick visit before heading to Knoxville for a visit.
The highly-coveted recruit has Tennessee, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Georgia in his final four. But it appears to be the Vols and the Cornhuskers that are out in front as this recruiting battle hits the home stretch (Ohio State was long viewed as the Vols' biggest competition, but it looks like they're out).
Nebraska fans did their part on Friday by showing up to welcome Sanders in Lincoln, now it's on Vols fans to top it on Saturday.
Update:
The rock has been painted for Sanders.
