Tennessee is looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Texas when they take on Auburn in Neyland Stadium on Saturday.

The Vols nearly upset the Longhorns last weekend in Knoxville, but Faizon Brandon’s Hail Mary fell incomplete in the end zone as time expired, giving Texas a 20-17 win.

Auburn enters this matchup coming off a 21-15 win over Vanderbilt. The Tigers lost in Week 3 to Florida (Auburn’s only loss so far this season).

ESPN’s Football Power Index predicts the outcome of Tennessee vs Auburn

ESPN’s Football Power Index has Tennessee beating Auburn by 7.6 points this weekend, while their SP+ projection has the Vols winning by 8.8 points (Tennessee is currently a seven point favorite).

“Auburn has faced one top-40 offense (per SP+), and it gave up 44 points,” noted ESPN’s Bill Connelly. “Six of the next eight offenses the Tigers face rank 22nd or better. Against Texas last week, all of Tennessee quarterback Faizon Brandon’s bad habits — namely, his one-read-and-go scrambling — were laid bare, and now, Vols guard Wendell Moe Jr. is out for the season. Can Auburn take advantage? And can Auburn score on an increasingly impressive Vols defense?”

Tennessee and Auburn are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday. The game will air on ESPN.
