Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Chris Brazzell will have to wait a little bit longer to hear his named called after going unselected on Day One of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Chris Brazzell will have to wait a bit longer to hear his name called in the 2026 NFL Draft.
There was some thought that Brazzell could be selected in the first round of the draft, but the expectation from most analysts was that the former Vol would not be selected until the second day of the draft.
That’s why it wasn’t a surprise that Brazzell wasn’t selected in the first round on Thursday night.
ESPN predicts where Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell will be selected on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft
ESPN’s Matt Miller thinks Brazzell will have to wait until near the end of Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft to hear his name called.
Miller has the Minnesota Vikings selecting Brazzell near the end of the third round (No. 97 overall).
A Day 2 mock draft from CBS Sports has Brazzell falling to Day 3 of the draft.
Brazzell has the size, speed, and body control to be a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver in the NFL. But there are concerns about the offense he played in at Tennessee. There was also a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter this week that questioned Brazzell’s maturity, though that report was called “trash” by a Vols insider.
I think Brazzell’s potential — there aren’t many 6-foot-5 wide receivers with loose hips who run a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash — will ultimately lead to him being selected on Day 2 of the draft. I’d be shocked if he falls to Day 3.
