No one will be doubting the toughness of former Lady Vols softball standout Karlyn Pickens anytime soon.

Pickens, who is in her first season with the Carolina Blaze, took a 73 MPH liner off the shoulder and chin on Saturday, and she didn’t even come out of the game.

The North Carolina native received attention on the field after getting hit, but she remained in the game.

Most people aren’t staying in the game after that. Pickens, though, quickly got back to work after getting hit by the line drive.

Pickens was selected by the Blaze with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 AUSL College Draft earlier this spring.
