According to 247Sports' Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer, former Tennessee Vols quarterback Kaidon Salter will visit the Colorado Buffaloes on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Salter, who signed with Tennessee during the 2021 recruiting cycle, entered the NCAA transfer portal after a couple of solid seasons at Liberty.
(Salter was dismissed from Tennessee's roster in the summer of 2021 after a couple of drug-related incidents. He never played in a game for the Vols.)
The Texas native was spectacular at Liberty in 2023, passing for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns while throwing only six interceptions. Salter also rushed for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns.
This past season, Salter's numbers took a step back as he passed for 1,886 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions while rushing for 587 yards and seven touchdowns.
With it looking increasingly likely that Deion Sanders will remain the head coach at Colorado, Salter could be stepping into one of the brightest spotlights in college football (if he lands with the Buffaloes).
Sanders' son, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, is heading to the NFL after the 2024 season. If Salter transfers to Colorado, all eyes will be on him and Deion to see if the Buffaloes can continue to be successful without Shedeur under center.
Salter is also set to visit Syracuse, so Colorado will have some competition for the former Vol.
