Former Tennessee Vols LHP Zander Sechrist made a bold suggestion to UT athletic director Danny White this week that Volunteers fans can get behind.
Earlier in the week, Tennessee basketball coach Rick Barnes received a lifetime contract.
Sechrist, who pitched some crucial innings for Tennessee baseball’s 2024 national championship team, wants to see Vols head coach Tony Vitello receive a lifetime contract, too.
“Congrats to Coach Rick Barnes on his lifetime deal…Now it’s time for Coach Vitello?!” tweeted Sechrist on Friday.
Sechrist shared a clip from a 2024 media session in which he suggested Tennessee athletic director Danny White should give Vitello a lifetime contract.
I don’t know what plans White has for Vitello’s contract, but whether or not the popular baseball coach gets a lifetime deal, there’s no doubt Tennessee will make sure he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
