An NFL franchise is trying to use Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to lure LeBron James to their city’s NBA team as a free agent this summer.
NBA legend and future Hall of Famer LeBron James has a big decision on his hands this summer.
James is a free agent after recently announcing that he won’t be returning to the Los Angeles Lakers next season.
The 41-year-old superstar is looking for a new home for the first time since 2018.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat — the only other teams James has played for in his pro career — are considered the favorites to land the four-time NBA Finals MVP.
Several other teams, however, also feel like they have a shot.
One of those teams is the Denver Nuggets, which is why the Denver Broncos are using Peyton Manning to help lure James to the Mile High City.
Manning finished his career with the Broncos with a win in Super Bowl 50 (James is hoping to end his career with another championship).
It’s a longshot that James will actually land in Denver — and I doubt a call from Peyton will sway his decision — but it’s at least a possibility.
Ultimately, I think James finishes his career where it started — in Cleveland. But it would certainly be fun to see him play one season in Denver with Nikola Jokić.
