It's no secret that the relationship between Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin wasn't always smooth at Alabama.

Kiffin served as Saban's offensive coordinator for three seasons at Alabama, helping modernize the Crimson Tide's offense during a time when up-tempo spread offenses were becoming the norm in college football.

It was a successful three years for Kiffin as he helped Alabama win a national championship in 2015 while losing only three games in three seasons.

But, again, it wasn't always smooth. And there were plenty of "ass-chewings" that Kiffin received from Saban. One of those sessions involved Saban clearing out the room and chewing out Kiffin while comparing him to PJ Funnybunny, a children's book character.

The "ass-chewing" came after Kiffin's offense lit up Saban's defense in a practice via some non-conventional plays.

From ESPNAt that point, Saban cleared everybody out of the room except Kiffin, who knew what was coming.

"I have to sit there, and he is screaming at me, standing over me screaming as I'm sitting in my chair. I thought he was going to fight me physically," said Kiffin, who can laugh about it now. "So, yes, I got a lot of ass-chewings, but that's the biggest one and one that no one saw. But I deserved it."

Saban, however, had one last salvo, which Kiffin and the offensive coaches from that staff still find hilarious. Saban compared Kiffin to a children's book character, P.J. Funnybunny, a spoiled bunny who went around creating havoc.

"He screamed at me that I was the bunny," Kiffin said, "and we were like, 'What the hell is that? There's no way Coach has read a little kid's bedtime story like that!'"

That's easily one of the funniest Kiffin/Saban stories I've heard. The image of Saban screaming at Kiffin that he's the spoiled bunny is absolutely hilarious.

And describing Kiffin as a spoiled bunny that wreaks havoc is a take that Tennessee Vols fans will likely agree with after the way Kiffin left Knoxville in early 2010. The guy is a great coach, but he does tend to wreak some havoc from time to time. But hey, it's worked out pretty well for Kiffin so far.
