There's been a lot of speculation over the last few days about Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava and the NCAA transfer portal.
Iamaleava, who led the Vols to a 10 win season (including wins against Alabama, Oklahoma, and Florida) and a spot in the College Football Playoff as a redshirt freshman in 2024, never indicated that he planned to enter the portal.
But that didn't stop speculation from running rampant on social media.
Tennessee fans, however, can relax. The transfer portal closed on Saturday night and Iamaleava is still a Vol.
Just after the transfer portal closed, Iamaleava's father dropped a hilarious tweet that humorously suggested he'll be suiting up for Tennessee in the fall.
It's understandable that fans want to keep up with the comings and goings of players on the roster. But instead of getting caught up in every little rumor, maybe fans should just until the dust settles on the transfer portal before making assumptions on what players will do.
