The Tennessee Vols won't take the field for another seven months, but predictions for how UT's 2025 season will go are already rolling on.
On Monday, 247Sports unveiled their early 2025 game-by-game predictions for each team in the SEC.
247Sports has the Volunteers finishing the regular season with a 9-3 record with losses to Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
From 247Sports: Back to the playoff for the Volunteers? It's possible with one of the league's most favorable slates if Tennessee wins at least one of the 'Big 3' against Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Getting the Bulldogs at Neyland Stadium could help, but there's no guarantee there. Nico Iamaleava must take the next steps in his development to lead Tennessee without Dylan Sampson in the backfield.
If Tennessee finishes 9-3, it's unlikely that they'll reach the College Football Playoff for a second straight season.
The general feeling heading into the 2025 season is that Tennessee needs to win at least one of their three games against the trio of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia (UT plays Alabama and Florida on the road while they get Georgia at home), while taking care of business in their other nine games to reach the playoff.
Tennessee hasn't won on the road against Alabama or Florida since 2003. And the Vols haven't won a game against Georgia since 2016. So while winning one out of those three games is more than doable for Tennessee, it certainly won't be an easy task.
